The Spirit of Friendship

I have met others along my way.
Some, they go and some, they stay.
Acquaintances, I have more than a few.
Strangers who will speak if first I do.
There are those, however, that I call friends,
Whom could ask of me anything,
For whom I would go to all ends.
These special people have touched my heart,
Have accepted my faults and didn't depart.
When a shoulder was needed or a helping hand,
I knew they were there, by my side they would stand.
If I called in the night, they wouldn't hesitate,
They would surely come, no matter how late.
I have taken their advice, their guidance I've sought.
They are my mentors and teachers; what wisdom they've taught.
More than all this, they have touched my soul.
They have lifted my spirit, helped me achieve each goal.
We are connected by bonds of loyalty and love.
They are prayers that were answered by the Great Spirit above.
I could never repay all that I owe to each one,
Couldn't thank them enough for all that they've done.
But I will always be there when they are in need.
I shall support and encourage each one to succeed.
For each is more than just a mere friend,
They are my beloved family, my spiritual kin.
So, in the spirit of friendship, to each in kind,
May your life be blessed, for you have blessed mine.
